| 内容記述 | This paper clarifies caregivers’ “views on play” during the early stages of changing the curriculum in Kindergarten A, a kindergarten aiming to shift from a teacher-led childcare approach influenced by a systematic curriculum of academic learning to a play-centered method based on an experiential curriculum. For this, SCAT analysis was conducted of 33 days of childcare records that were made by class caregivers of 5-year-old. The results indicate that children considered “play” as the activities that they “self-selected and self-managed;” their “view of play” involved activities that require support while struggling not to interfere with “self-selection and self-management.” Second, the study was conducted together with interviews and field notes. Therefore, as a background for the “view of play,” given children’s regard for the “self-selection and self-management” of activities, a preschool management policy was found that supports developing children’s lives centered on outdoor play, which is more difficult for caregivers to understand than indoor play. |
