| 内容記述 | In 1935, there was an intensification of the debate on whether or not to make students read the Confucian classics in school. Those who wanted to make reading of the classics compulsory argued that if this kind of study was not revived, there was a danger that Chinese cultural traditions would be lost to the Chinese people. This paper sets out to analyze opinions as recorded in the May 1935 special issue of the journal, "The Educational Review", on the revival of education aimed at reading the Confucian classics. They also clarify how reading of the classics should be implemented so as to enable Chinese traditions to be maintained, and what kind of canons should be combined in such a way that the product resulting from the education takes the form of splendid "Chinese". In this paper, I have set out my observations on "recipes" for producing that kind of Chinese culture. The "recipes" comprise judicious selections from the 13 Classics which constitute the important canons of Confucianism, and it was provoked by the ideological movement of the Koumingtang at that time. | |||||
