| 内容記述 | This paper aims to clarify the aspects of their work that childcare workers value with respect to the past, present, and future, based on interviews with childcare workers who have experience working with children with foreign backgrounds. The discussion focuses on the possibilities and challenges of embracing differences. The results of this study demonstrate the process through which childcare workers alter what they value in their work. They initially valued childcare in which special consideration was given to differences and individuality. However, they subsequently began to value childcare in which the focus was on sameness, and then childcare in which differences were embraced on the assumption that they are rooted in sameness. Childcare that embraces differences based on the assumption of sameness is enabled by childcare workers’ gaze toward the children. In this context, the gaze of each of us is being examined so that differences will be embraced as they are, without exclusion, and children will not be made invisible. |
