Next, it considers the features of teaching Chinese sounds to Japanese, Chinese and Philippine children by using the memory model, in order to know the role of short- and long-term memory. Finally, from the point of view of memory model, it discusses teaching Chinese sounds to Japanese learners. (i) Teaching Chinese sounds should be carefully graded and only presented a little at a time. (ii) Previous experiments have suggested that 7±2 syllables are most successful for learners to learn and memories Chinese sounds.
