The subjects of this study are 1419 students from 1st to 3rd grades of 4 private girls' junior high schools in Tokyo. The results showsd that the students experienced much more stressors at the school life and stress responses were higher when they had both the desire for intimacy and homogeneousness with their friends and the desire for heterogeneousness with tham than when they only were in anxiety for their friendship. Also, the results showed that students who were not in anxiety for their friendship but had intimacy with their fiends tended to recognize social support from their friends. It is suggested that in designing much more appropriate psychoeducational service for junior high school female students, it is important to reduce pear pressure and anxiety for their friendship and to develop warmheartedness and a feeling of identification with their
