Since the founding of the American Psychological Association in 1892, the importance of increasing psychological literacy in society has been continuously pointed out. In Japan as well, a major issue for psychology as an academic discipline is the dissemination and enlightenment of psychology, and many studies on the \"public image of psychology\" have been conducted. These studies, targeting university students, high school students, and working adults, show that they do not always have a correct image of psychology as an academic discipline. Based on these findings, two directions for the dissemination of psychology were described in this study.
