Based on the data obtained and an arbitrary fulcrum point that assumed the position of the middle finger when grasping the spoon, the moment arm and moment of force applied to the spoon were calculated and compared among the spoons.\nResults:The weights of the spoons varied, with the center of gravity of curry spoons located generally closer to the tip of the spoon and that of self-help spoons located closer to the back end of the spoon as the weight of the spoon increased. The moment of force generated by the self-help spoon was generally smaller than that by the curry spoon, and the moment of force of the self-help spoon tended to decrease as the weight of the spoon increased. Within the scope of the current study, a difference in moment of force of approximately 300 gf-cm was found depending on the type of spoon and position in which it was held.\nConclusion:To perform stable spooning, it is necessary to control the moment of force generated by the spoon.
