Parenting skills training targeting children up to school age was mainly carried out in groups for developmental disorders without intellectual disorder. Parents who took part in the program changed in their parenting behavior, mental health and their child’s behavior positively. However, it was shown that children with autism spectrum disorder have a different mechanism of learning behavior from children with attention-deficit / hyperactivity disorder; therefore, it is necessary to educate parents about behavioral theory and developmental characteristics individually.
