First, factor analysis was conducted on “eating behavior and food consciousness” items and we found five factors: “healthy diet” “cooking interest” “convenience” “family dinning” “confectionery and commercial prepared food.” A result of correlation analysis found that both mothers and children showed the similar tendency in eating consciousness and behaviors. Next, cluster analyses based on five factors resulted in four dietary lifestyles patterns: “ideal diet” “eating -out” “indifference to meals” (these dietary lifestyles patterns were common for two generations ) and“meals at home”pattern (only in children) and “capricious diet” pattern (only in mother). Then, the multiple correspondence analysis showed that “mothers’ and children’s ideal dietary lifestyles” “trust in fathers” “trust in mothers” “mother’s balanced child-rearing attitude” “the highest score for happiness” were found nearby each other.
